Having started from pole position, Rosberg had the best chance of swinging the pendulum towards him and to show that he can beat his British teammate in wheel-to-wheel fights. Unfortunately, after the first round of pit stops, Hamilton put the hammer down and passed the German on turn 12 to record his fifth straight victory and one that takes him 24 points ahead in the drivers standings.
