The 118th edition of the IFA Shield, organised by the Indian Football Association (West Bengal), is being played from January 29 to February 15, 2014 in Kolkata. This years tournament had eight teams competing for the title.
In Group I local sides East Bengal Club and United SC faced Geylang International FC (SINGAPORE) and Busan Sun Moon FC (SOUTH KOREA); while in Group II the local sides Mohun Bagan AC and Mohammedan Sporting Club had United Sikkim FC and Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club (BANGLADESH) in the group.
In the end after the group stage East Bengal Club and United SC from Group I, along with Mohammedan Sporting Club and Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club from Group II qualified for the semifinals.
