Serbian international forward Adem Ljajic will remain at Roma next season, according to the player’s agent.

The skilful forward was close to a switch to Old Trafford in 2010 until the deal collapsed because of work permit issues.

The ex-Fiorentina man, who joined Roma last season on a 11million euros (£8.7m) deal has been the subject of immense transfer speculations from various tabloids this off-season, where he has been linked with AC Milan, Liverpool, Manchester United and Schalke.

However, the player’s agent came out recently and cleared the air regarding his client’s future.

Speaking to reputed Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Ljajic's agent Fali Ramadani said: "I can assure everyone that Ljajic will remain at Roma. There is no intention from the player to leave the club.

"I have said it for some time and I continue to say it.

"The rumours that he will leave have absolutely no foundation.

"We have received offers for him, but we have not taken them into consideration."

Speculation regarding Ljajic’s departure escalated in recent times as Roma roped in Juan Manue Iturbe from Hellas Verona.
