With Arsenal looking to be in the driving seat for a top four finish, Arsene Wenger will almost definitely be looking to strengthen the Gunners this summer. But with all the reports and rumours, what is the likeliness of some of the players majorly linked with Arsenal? Let’s find out with the higher the number, the more likely:

Stevan Jovetic

Having been linked with Arsenal for so long, 23-year-old Jovetic has been identified as the man to finally replace Robin van Persie‘s role at Arsenal.

With FIFA agent, Di Domenico stating that Jovetic has been given the go ahead to go the Gunners, Italian journalist, Mario Sconcerti believes Jovetic is heading to England this summer but to Manchester City.

Can Arsenal afford him? Yes, with the Montengerin having a reported £25m buy-out clause, Arsenal can more than afford the Fiorentina man.

How likely is the transfer? 6.5 – it is likely but don’t be surprised if it doesn’t happen.

Asmir Begovic

With reports stating that Arsenal are leading the chase for Stoke keeper, Begovic, it looks like Wenger is really taking the Gunners’ goalkeeping situation seriously.

Szczesny has been disappointing at times while Fabianski’s contract is up this summer, and so, Wenger seems to have identified 25-year-old, Begovic as the man to provide stability between the two posts. Adding to this, Stoke bought Jack Butland – probably in preparation for Begovic’s departure – makes a Begovic departure from the Britannia Stadium very likely.

Can Arsenal afford him? Yes but he won’t come cheap - £15m is quite a lot for a goalkeeper.

How likely is the transfer? 6.5 – like Jovetic, it’s likely but if he doesn’t come, look out for another goalkeeper probably getting signed.

Ashley Williams

The Swansea captain has been a target for Arsenal as well as Liverpool with reports stating that Arsenal are the more serious of the two clubs for the 28-year-old. This makes sense as Thomas Vermaelen could leave the Gunners, especially after losing his place in the starting eleven though he insists he is ready to fight for his place.

Can Arsenal afford him? Yes, however the £12m price-tag slapped on Williams is quite a bit for a defender who will probably be 3rd choice at most and is on the wrong side of 20.

How likely is the transfer? 7 – one would expect Wenger to fork out Williams for less than the reported price-tag though.
