All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has honored the champions Nepal National U-14 girl´s football team for winning the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-14 girl´s Regional (South and Central Asia) title. The 16-member team, coaches and officials were awarded with Nepalese Rs 20,000 each in recognition of their extra-ordinary performance in Sri Lanka where they lifted the AFC U-14 girl´s Regional (South and Central Asia) title without conceding a goal and scoring 20 goals in the championship.

Nepal U-14 team lead by Bhawana Mukhiya, defeated Tajikistan 2-0 in the last match of the championship to lift the title. Nepal thrashed Bhutan 9 – 0, defeated hosts Sri Lanka 1 – 0, outclassed India 4-0 and outplayed Iran 4-0. Alisha Jimba, also the highest scorer with nine goals in the tournament, was also judged player-of-the-tournament.

The players of the Team Nepal were Bhawana Mukhiya (c), Nisha Thoker, Kaushila Rai, Laxmi Tamang, Manisha Raut, Manisha Thapa, Mithila Kumari, Anshu Bomjan, Sushma Manandhar, Anshila Rai, Saru Limbu, Puja Tamang, Samjhana Basnet, Rekha Paudel and Alisha Jimba.

National Sports Council member secretary Yubraj Lama and ANFA President Ganesh Thapa handed away the award to the victorious team.
