The latest FIFA rankings were announced earlier today which features Argentina at the top of the summit after their recent outings with Belgium following them closely at the second spot. The South American teams in the top 10 are Columbia at third, Chile at fifth while Brazil dropped from seventh to ninth spot in the recently updated rankings. The next release of the rankings is scheduled on the 15th of September with some major changes expected on account of the Olympics in Rio.
Wales after their brilliant Euros campaign are at the 11th spot whereas England is at the 13th spot after getting humiliated at the hands of minnows Iceland who are at the 23rd spot. Costa Rica got the biggest advantage in these rankings as they jumped six spots from 27th to 21st spot. Algeria remained the highest seeded team from Africa as they stay at the 32nd spot in the latest rankings.

India remained 152nd on the list amongst the 209 members of the FIFA with the Indians being highest ranked football team in South Asia and 27th in the Asian Football Confederation. Other South Asian countries haven't progressed much with Pakistan remaining on the 194th spot whereas Maldives improved a bit to stay at the 174th spot. New Zealand are the biggest improvers from this group as they jump 54 places to stay on level with Libya at the 93rd spot.
In Africa, Algeria, Ghana and Ivory Coast remain the top three sides from the African continent. Nigeria improved three places as they go up to 67th spot from the 70th. Kenya dropped their standings by two places as they go from 86th to 88th rank in the latest rankings. Uganda at 65th remains the highest placed team from the Cecafa region followed by Kenya and Rwanda.

Portugal after winning the Euros climbed up to the sixth spot whereas France broke into the top ten after a long time occupying the seventh spot. Spain stay at the eighth spot which completes the top ten standings published today. Argentina will continue to remain in the top spot if they continue their good form in the Olympics whereas India who jumped 11 places in July to rise upto the 152nd spot will look to continue their progress up the table.
