Walcott and Giroud expected to feature soon

Arsenal have been handed a boost following their injury hit campaign this season. They will soon be getting the likes of Theo Walcott and Oliver Giroud back in action. It has been revealed that Theo Walcott is back in training and Oliver Giroud is recovering ahead of his schedule. It is good news for Arsenal fans, as well as Arsene Wenger who is looking to make up for the points lost this season.

In this current campaign since Giroud’s injury, Arsenal have notched up only 3 wins out of a possible 8 in all competitions including a loss against Dortmund in the Champions League. They are 8th in Premier League standings right now and need to recover fast if they want a successful season.

Injury problems started for Arsenal back in January when Theo Walcott ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in the FA cup 2-0 win against Tottenham.

Since then over the year they have been plagued by injuries to big names like Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Debuchy, Aaron Ramsey, Yaya Sanogo, Nacho Monreal , Olivier Giroud and most recently Mesut Ozil. Mesut Ozil has been ruled out until next year following torn ligaments in his knees adding to Arsenal’s woes.

Wenger speaks about Walcott and Giroud

Previously, Olivier Giroud broke his leg in August during a Premier League clash against Everton, due to which he was expected to be out till 2015, but his recovery is ahead of schedule.

While Walcott is back in training, Giroud is also said to be ahead of schedule in his recovery.

Wenger said, “Giroud is recovering very well. The operation went perfectly. I believe he is ahead of schedule in terms of rehabilitation," added Wenger.
