Video: Arsenal fans tear down hoardings during Capital One cup match against Tottenham

Arsenal could be charged by FA for their improper conduct at White Hart Lane

Some of Arsenal supporters could face FA investigation following their rampage in their win against north London rivals Tottenham in their Capital One Cup match on Wednesday night. Overjoyed and ecstatic with their victory, the away fans vandalised White Hart Lane by ripping up hoardings at the final whistle, according to Sky Sports.

A small section of the Gunners supporters ripped off advertisement hoardings in the away section of the stadium. Arsenal has insisted that they would assist in any investigation into the incident and has released a statement expressing their concern at the action of the Arsenal fans.

“We are concerned that this happened, involving a minority of fans,” a club spokesman said.

"We will work with Tottenham Hotspur and the authorities on this."

Both sets of fans have also been claimed to be involved in a clash outside the stadium after the match. Any Football Association investigation could land both clubs in trouble, for failing to control supporters inside the stadium.

Ten people were arrested for a range of offences including public order, criminal damage and assault by the Metropolitan Police.

Meanwhile, Mathieu Flamini scored the winner against Spurs which was enough to earn his side a victory. He picked up a brace on the night which has been praised by Wenger. This was the Frenchman’s first appearance of the season.
