Arsenal's Gabriel receives death threats from own supporters for injuring Wilshere

Jack Wilshere is set to be sidelined for 2-months following a training session injury

Arsenal supporters have come in support of their defender Gabriel, whose ferocious tackle led to Jack Wilshere’s injury which will keep him out for two months, by retaliating against the bunch of fans that sent the Brazilian death threats on Twitter.

The England international was forced to sit out of the Community Shield match on Sunday with an injury and Arsene Wenger, in his post-match interview, revealed that it would keep him out for “days”.

But his return could be delayed after a suspected hairline fracture on his ankle could keep him sidelined for several months. And reports suggest that centre-back Gabriel, who was signed from Villarreal this January, had been responsible for the damage to Wilshere’s ankle after a robust challenge in training.

Following that a section of the self-proclaimed Arsenal supporters took to Social Media to rant against the young defender- some even threatening with dire consequences.

Another tweeted: "Wtf Gabriel you reckless c*** go back to Brazil no wonder you're the squad loner. P****."

One user crossed the edge and went on to threaten the player’s family.

They wrote: "Leave my f****** club @gpaulista5. F****** knob I'll put your family down."

Arsenal fans turn on supporters who sent out death threats

However, this led to a furious backlash that responded to such death threats. A fan, Callum Novelli, wrote “The death threat to Gabriel aren‘t from Arsenal fans, they are people who claim to be fans. Don’t be drawn to it”

Niko, Arsenal faithful wrote “Fans that are abusing Gabriel are not Gooners, just bunch of idiots. Gabriel didn't intentionally injure Jack, we all know how tough he is.

Martin Whittle, another London-based club’s supporter tweeted ”The 'so called' @Arsenal fans hating on @gpaulista5 are the epitome of the element that we don't want or need at my historic club. Disgrace!

Another Arsenal fan twitter account said, ”Wishing Wilshere the speediest of recoveries and Gabriel to continue being fierce in a tackle. Anyone abusing Gabriel on Twitter is a knob”

Another fan, B Larsen tweeted “People tweeting Gabriel acting like he purposefully injured Wilshere. The state of you...”
