Loic Remy proved his pedigree at Newcastle last season

Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy ahead of an £10 million move, according to the Daily Star.

The French striker was on loan at Newcastle United last season, scoring 14 goals in the Premier League, but was spotted at the Emirates for Arsenal’s end-of-season game against West Bromwich Albion, fuelling rumours that he was to sign for the north London club.

Arsenal have forever been linked with Remy and missed out on him when he decided to sign for QPR. It seems their chance has finally arrived as, according to reports, they have agreed terms with the French striker ahead of an £10m transfer.

Although QPR are back in the Premier League after beating Derby County 1-0 in the Championship Play-Off final, Remy is keen to leave Loftus Road and play in the Champions League, which Arsenal can offer if they get through their qualifier at the start of next season.

In April Remy said that he would be open to a move away from QPR and that he wants to play for a big club who are competing at the highest level.

He said: “I want to join a great European club, to play at the highest level.”

It seems he may have got his way.
