Reports: Arsenal & Spurs target Morgan Schneiderlin wants to leave Southampton

Southampton’s miserable summer looks set to continue according to Goal.com, with Arsenal target Morgan Schneiderlin reportedly set to announce his intention to be the next member of staff to exit the club this summer.

Southampton’s exciting side from the season past has already been decimated, with manager Mauricio Pochettino having proved the first out of the door as he accepted the vacant managerial position at Tottenham Hotspur, and Rickie Lambert shortly making the switch to Liverpool.

Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw have been the latest departees as they made big-money moves to Liverpool and Manchester United respectively, while Dejan Lovren is expected to leave shortly, with the Croatian centre-back having handed in a transfer request at St Mary’s.

Schneiderlin is set to follow suit and has already told Southampton that he wishes to leave this summer, with Napoli believed to be heading the chase for the French midfielder.

The Italian club have already held talks with Schneiderlin’s representatives and are prepared to nearly double the wages he is currently on, but they will face competition from the Premier League, with Arsenal and Tottenham both keen on his signature too.

Spurs in particular are in favour of reuniting Pochettino with his former charge and they could offer Brazilian midfielder Sandro to Napoli in order to ward the Italian club off Schneiderlin and clear the path for them to bring him to White Hart Lane.
