Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has received a major boost ahead of the titanic clash this weekend with Manchester United after star forward Alexis Sanchez trained with the squad.

The French manager has not yet registered a win against United manager Jose Mourinho in all the clubs the Portuguese manager has coached, and Wenger welcome the Chilean to help change that dubious record when his team faces off at Old Trafford.

Sanchez was reportedly injured after suffering a low-grade muscle injury while on international duty and this was after he defied the club’s orders not to travel to join his national teammates for the 2018 World Cup qualifying games during the international games.

He even further triggered the anger of Wenger when his manager ordered him to return to North London but decided to remain in South America to play for his country. He marched on to grab a brace for Chile against Uruguay.

He told reporters in Chile, “I travel to London today,” he said. “I will train Friday and travel the same Friday to Manchester to play Saturday at noon.”

His eventual return to Arsenal’s training base met a stern-faced Wenger who is looking to beat Mourinho for the first time in 13 games spanning 12-and-a-half year period.

If Wenger will secure the win over his old foe, then the industrious services of Alexis Sanchez will be needed. The former Barcelona and Udinese forward has been a livewire for the Gunners with six goals and a further three assists in his 11 appearances this season.

Sanchez’s form in the last three months for Wenger’s side has been helped by the Frenchman’s decision to play him through the middle, flanked by assist king Mesut Ozil and a re-emerged Theo Walcott.

Chile’s 3-1 victory over Uruguay might have given Wenger concerns throughout the 90 minute period but those worries were quashed following the striker’s performance, as he came out unscathed.

Arsenal have Alex Iwobi back after his successful campaign in the African qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup with Nigeria while Olivier Giroud also trained with the squad on Friday, which will give Wenger options in attack against Man United.

Arsenal currently lie fourth in the league and will welcome similar performances that gave them a mighty 3-0 win over London rivals Chelsea, when they hosted the West London club at the Emirates a few weeks ago.
