Aubameyang and Reus troll Borussia Dortmund team-mates Januzaj and Weigl on Instagram

Aubameyang and Reus have formed a formidable partnership

The Gabon international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been in sublime form, scoring consistently for Borussia Dortmund as they continue their supreme form under new manager Thomas Tuchel. The forwards is also known for his jest apart from his abilities on the pitch.

He’s popped up with another moment of pure hilarity with a picture on Instagram poking fun at Dortmund new boys Adnan Januzaj, who’s on loan form Manchester United, and Julian Weigl. The picture is an edited image that has the newbies' faces placed where the mascot's faces should be standing along with Aubameyang and Reus in the picture. Dortmund's top scorer this season so far accompanied the image with a caption that said: "No comments #bvb #kids #canihaveyourjersey”

The comment was accompanied by a slew of emoticons and also tagged the three others in the picture. The post clearly a friendly jab at the new boys who’ve only just started to get a foothold at the German club.

The Gabon forward has become notorious for his humour on the pitch and off it. One of the most popular ones he pulled off was a goal celebration where he pulled on a Batman mask and posed with Marco Reus who wore a Robin mask. He’s also continually been an interactive personality on Twitter, often making clever jabs at teammates.

All is allowed for the 26-year-old at the moment as long as he keeps up his goalscoring antics. The 26-year-old now has 13 goals from 10 games this season. A record befitting the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, who Aubameyang has claimed he wants to emulate. It’s a shame though that Dortmund failed to qualify for the Champions League this time around because they would have given even some of the best teams a run for their money, especially with Aubameyang spearheading the attack.

Dortmund suffered the disappointment of being beaten 5-1 by Bayern a couple of weeks ago but have been imperious otherwise. Their sublime form means they are still among the top two in the Bundesliga and will hope that a rampant Bayern Munich slips up at some point so they can take advantage.

The Bavarians were held to a draw last night by Eintracht Frankfurt, it should spur Tuchel’s side to go harder for the win against Werder Brememn when they meet later today as this might be the perfect opportunity for the men in yellow to go closer to Pep Guardiola’s side.
