Imagine Real Madrid players wearing a red and blue striped shirt similar to arch-rivals Barcelona. Sounds rather ridiculous, isn't it? But Barcelona fans are trying to make the impossible happen!

Adidas have launched a contest which gives the fans an opportunity to design the third kit of Real Madrid next season. The German company have come forward with this innovative idea of giving football fans a chance to design the third kits of AC Milan, Bayern Munich, Flamengo, Manchester United, Juventus and Real Madrid.

Fans can submit their entries through the Adidas website.

The top 100 designs, based on online votes, will be evaluated by a judging panel which will also include a player from the club. The design which impresses the judging panel the most will be the team’s third kit for the 2017-18 season.

Adidas have put themselves and Real Madrid fans in a muddle, as two of the leading designs have Barcelona-themed colours, namely the ‘Blaugrana’ and ‘Eseteladas’.

The Esteladas design has a white five-pointed star in blue background and, alternating lines of yellow and red colours.

However, Real Madrid fans' worst nightmare will not come into being as Adidas have disregarded the Barcelona designs.

Real Madrid have chosen a black and purple colour combination for their third kit. This particular design is inspired from the Plaza de Cibeles, where the Los Blancos’ usually celebrate their title wins.

The football universe will witness the first clash between Real Madrid and Barcelona when they lock horns at Camp Nou on 4th December, and the second one will take place on 23rd April.
