Barcelona confirm the signing of Chile and Real Sociedad goalkeeper Claudio Bravo

Claudio Bravo will officially move from Real Sociedad to Barcelona

Barcelona FC have confirmed the signing of Chile goalkeeper Claudio Bravo from his current club Real Sociedad.

The Catalan club made the official announcement in the club’s website as follows: ‘FC Barcelona and Real Sociedad have reached an agreement for the transfer of goalkeeper Claudio Bravo. Claudio Bravo will sign a contract with FC Barcelona for the next four seasons.’

The 31-year-old Chilean captain will join the Catalans after a 8-year-spell with Real Sociedad. Coming through the Chilean youth system, Claudio Bravo moved to the Spanish club – Real Sociedad in 2006. During his long stint at San Sebastien, he has made over 200 appearances proving himself as a natural leader with a good composture and agility.

After the departure of Barcelona’s two main goalkeepers – Victor Valdes and Jose Manuel Pinto, Claudio Bravo is the second goalkeeper signing for Barcelona as they have already acquired the services of the German goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen from Borussia Monchengladbach.

With loads of experience in La Liga, Bravo is expected to be Barcelona’s No.1 next season while Andre Stegen wil be his under study.

The Chilean captain is currently playing in the World Cup in Brazil and will join at Camp Nou after the tournament. Confirming his arrival, FC Barcelona have uploaded this picture in instagram with Claudio Bravo’s Barcelona jersey.
