Barcelona have announced their signing of a new agreement with global consumer electronics brand Beko, which will see the brand’s logo featured on the sleeve of the team’s new jersey.

Speaking to the club’s official website, club Presiden Josep Maria Bartomeu said, “FC Barcelona are proud to have you as part of the Barça family. Beko have previously worked in sport, particularly basketball, and they have now put their trust in Barça and we have out our trust in Beko”.

“We will be beginning a new journey together, which I am sure will bring us both great satisfaction. It is a shared journey based on commonly held ideas and shared values such as thoroughness, exactitude ambition, teamwork, innovation, a global vocation and passion for what we do,” he continued. “This alliance with Beko and the Arçelik Group of Koç Holding is especially pleasing for us. As I said before, we know that Barça are very well loved and admired in Turkey and we estimate we have about 10 million fans there and are the country’s most popular Club. These are loyal supporters, who recognise our singular nature and know that we are “more than a Club”. For Barça, that is as important as our sporting success.”

The four-year partnership between the two brands will see Beco become the first brand whose logo will be featured on the team jersey’s sleeve.

This is how the logo will look on the sleeve of the team’s jersey:

This will be the club’s fourth partner to be symbolised by the presence of its official logo on the team jersey, which brings us to the question: Has Barcelona gone overboard with its shirt sponsor deals?

They already have Nike, Qatar Airways and Unicef’s logo embarked on the jersey, and now with Beko joining the list, Barcelona covering their shirt with numerous brands is kind of a shame.
