Robert Lewandowski is one of the most lethal strikers in Europe

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has set a host of Premier League and La Liga giants on alert, as the target-man admitted that a move to England or Spain interests him. The Pole is heavily sought-after, as a dearth of proven strikers in football has raised his value, with clubs like Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United interested in his services.

Ahead of Bayern Munich’s UEFA Champions League semifinal clash with Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Calderon, Lewandowski spoke to France Football and outlined his next career move, saying “Maybe I'll play in England or Spain one day.”

However, the Pole immediately moved to placate his current employers, praising their consistent success, saying “But, if I committed to pursuing my career in Munich, it's because I considered it the ideal club at which to move up a level and to win more trophies.

“The fact that every season they reach at least the semi-finals of the Champions League impressed me. Apart from Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, what other teams can brag about such consistency? I don't know what my future will look like but at the moment I'm very happy at Bayern.”

Lewandowski considers Theirry Henry his idol

Robert Lewandowski’s comments might have alerted multiple Premier League clubs, but Arsenal might have the most hope, given Lewandowski’s admission that Arsenal legend Thierry Henry was his idol, saying “Thierry Henry has always been my idol, especially when he played for Arsenal. I watched a lot of his matches.”

The Gunners are in need of a prolific striker, with Olivier Giroud in the worst form of his career, having not scored in 19 of his last 20 games. In comparison, Lewandowski has been rather prolific in Bayern’s season, being involved in 45 goals in 46 games, scoring 38 times and assisting 7 goals.

However, the Gunners might be thwarted in their attempts, with Pep Guardiola set to take over the reigns at Manchester City in the summer and might hope to take the Pole with him. Lewandowski is particularly grateful to the Spaniard, noting the improvement in his game, saying “With him I have made much progress. After three months with him, I realised that I had already taken several steps.”

Lewandowski will also get a taste of La Liga against Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Calderon, with the Pole looking forward to the atmosphere, saying “We hear that the atmosphere is up there with the top three in Europe.”
