Highlights: Bayern Munich 2-1 Borussia Dortmund - Robben penalty completes late comeback

Robben seals late comeback victory

Bayern Munich cameback from one goal down at home to defeat Borussia Dortmund in the highly rated Bundesliga clash on Saturday.

The Bavarians sealed a 2-1 win in the end courtesy of a 71th minute strike from former Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski before Arjen Robben converted from the penalty spot to ensure all three points for his side.

The hosts went behind in the half an hour mark after they were caught on the counter. Aubameyang delivered a well-timed cross from the right wing which was met by Marco Reus’ header.

Pep Guardiola’s men replied in the second half when Franck Ribery tried to slide in a pass for Robben which was blocked by Nevan Subotic. However, Lewandowski was the first to react on the loose ball as he struck it into the left corner and equalised for the home side.

The comeback was completed in the 85th minute after Robben slotted in the second from a penalty spot to ensure a victory for the Bavarians that keeps them at the top of the table with 24 points. Dortmund, on the other hand, have suffered their fourth straight loss in the Bundesliga and are currently in 16th place.
