Arjen Robben celebrates after scoring against Dortmund

Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has revealed that Pep Guardiola is all about football. In an interview with the France Football magazine, the Dutchman commented on Guardiola, “He's a football maniac. He's capable of calling you up at 3 in the morning to talk tactics.

“He's always thinking up new systems. He's improved us and made us more unpredictable.”

Guardiola has tinkered a lot with his team this season and his side haven’t disappointed. The former Barcelona boss has even used a system with three defenders at the back; a formation that you wouldn’t generally associate with Guardiola or Bayern. With the new tactics, the Bundesliga holders find themselves at the top and are the only unbeaten side in the league.

Although Bayern won the Bundesliga title, DFB Pokal and the Club World Cup last season, there was a sense of disappointment as they were humbled 5-0 by Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League. This season, Bayern look the real deal in the European competition as Guardiola’s team have put in some impressive displays; notably in the 7-2 win over last season’s Serie A runners-up AS Roma.

Robben happy at Bayern

Despite being 30 years old, Robben has set the Bundesliga on fire this season. The Dutchman has scored four goals and assisted two in his seven appearances for the club.

The former Real Madrid man signed a contract extension in March this year that will keep him at the club until 2017. He revealed that he is happy at the club and isn’t planning on moving anywhere in the near future,

“I've been at some of the top clubs in the world and played under a lot of great coaches but I feel as happy as I've ever been at Bayern.

“I've got several seasons left on my contract and I have no intention of going anywhere else.”
