EA sports FIFA 15’s release is just around the corner and fans could not be more excited. However, before we move on to FIFA 15, let’s take a look back at FIFA 14 and the best league in that game. There are 5 major leagues in the game and they are Ligue 1, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and the Barclays Premier League, and even among them, one stands as the best. Any guesses?
The Barclays Premier League easily takes the top spot as the best league in the game, and we can easily see how it’s better than the other leagues. If you look at the weaknesses of each league:
Ligue 1
There is not enough depth in defenders and goalkeepers and the good players are very expensive. Almost all of the highly rated players are concentrated in Paris Saint-Germain, with a few exceptions in AS Monaco, after the choices are scarce.
La Liga
With the exception of few players like Messi or Benzema, this league lacks depth in quality strikers. Don’t get me wrong, they are some highly rated wingers and midfielders but no natural pure-bred striker and the good players are very expensive. Again in this league too, most of the highly rated players are with Barcelona and Real Madrid. The only other team who can give these two a bit of a tough time would be Atletico Madrid but after that, there isn’t much one can play with.
Serie A
The league is slightly better balanced with atleast 4 or 5 teams that are equally matched. Juventus stands tallest and the teams rated just below like AC Milan, Inter, Fiorentina are more of a match for each other. Also the players in this league are not as expensive but this league still lacks depth in left and right midfielders and quality wingers which again, limits our choices when picking a team as well as affects our gameplay, as wide play can’t be played by most teams in the league.
Bundesliga
This league is not bad actually and is the better than the ones above, but only because the BPL is better, that Bundesliga takes the second spot. The downside about this league would be a limited number of strikers and also that it’s ruled by German Giants, Bayern Munich. The only other team that can sometimes play upto it’s level would be Borussia Dortmund. However after these two, the teams are more evenly matched with ratings of around 3 to 4.5. This league also has a fairer distribution of highly rated players, with most of the teams having atleast a few good players
And finally, the best league in FIFA 14:
The Barclays Premier League-
Without a doubt, the best league in the game is this league. Just take a look at the teams and players in them. It has a huge depth in almost all areas; Strikers, midfielders, defenders and goalkeepers. Furthermore, good players are not as expensive and the good players are more or less, equally divided amongst the teams in the league. Even in reality, the Barclays Premier League is the most exciting to follow, where any team can beat any team, irrespective of their positions in the league. With a lot of players rated above 80 in this league, its quite exciting to pick teams and allows you a lot more variety. Added to this, all teams play in different manners and so, gameplay is more engaging and we end finding new ways to play, with each team, rather than get used to how a particular team plays like Barcelona in the La Liga. Players can switch from wing-play to long ball easily or even go in a counterattack with most teams in the league, as it has players to accomodate all these tactics.
