Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho interrupts Roberto Martinez's interview, curses loudly

After Chelsea lost 3-1 to Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday, manager Jose Mourinho was not in the best of moods. And his temperament was tested when Toffees boss Roberto Martinez was the first manager to address the media after his side won all three points thanks to a Steven Naismith hat-trick.

The Blues boss was angered by the fact that he had to wait because he wanted to get back to London as soon as possible. Since the Spanish boss went in first, Mourinho was delayed and went on to rant about the situation with some nasty language, the audio of which was procured by Liverpool Echo.

Soon after Martinez was finished with the TV interviews and addressing the media, a few journalists were interviewing him inside the stadium. That was when a furious Mourinho walked past and took out his frustration on the Everton manager by interrupting his interview.

Mourinho said: “Roberto, next time tell me ‘go’ before you because we have to travel.”

Martinez was in no mood to argue with his counterpart and simply washed his hands off the matter. “We don’t control that, Jose. I don’t control that,” he explained.

Mourinho just cursed, loudly saying “F***ing hell!” before walking away towards the press room.

To his credit, Martinez was not agitated by the comment and was still smiling when he turned his attention back to the reporters, even joking about the last time he met Mourinho after the game in the same fixture last season.

“When he beat us 6-3 (2013/14 season) he was such a nice man, I prefer him like that!”

When he was asked whether he would invite Mourinho in for some wine, Martinez said: “Of course, I am sure he’s going to come round.”

According to The Guardian. Mourinho had later apologized to journalists after there was no separate media briefing after the game because he had to leave for London. The Portuguese boss explained that the confusion in the media schedule prompted him to cancel the briefing.

Mourinho confident of beating Arsenal in next game

The defending champions are now 17th in the table and could find themselves in the relegation zone if Newcastle beat West Ham on Monday night. The Blues have won only one game so far and have just four points from five matches.

But Mourinho was still confident he could turn things around, even suggesting Chelsea were favourites to win the next Premier League game – a London derby with fourth-placed Arsenal.
