Manchester City's Frank Lampard celebrates his goal against Southampton.

On loan at Manchester City from New York City FC, Chelsea legend Frank Lampard scored the second goal for the Premier League champions during their 3-0 road win over Southampton. The English midfielder came on as a substitute for Samir Nasri, and he duly delivered what he was asked for.

The former Chelsea star’s goal came in the 80th minute of the game after he found the ball just outside the box following a pass from James Milner, slotting it past the goalkeeper with a powerful right-footed shot.

The goal is his 174th in his Premier League career, and now he stands only a goal behind to equal the record set by former Arsenal skipper and New York Red Bulls striker Thierry Henry who currently stands as the fourth highest goal scorer in the history of the league.
