Chelsea, Manchester United and City are in a bidding war for Barcelona's Gerard Pique

Pique has been struggling at Barcelona for quite some time now.

Gerard Pique is not having the best of the seasons of his career this year and has been limited to the bench more since the arrival of Jeremy Mathieu this summer. He was also one of Barcelona’s weakest link during their 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid last week.

Earlier rumoured to be unsettled, the central defender is now being targeted by three Premier League clubs with Chelsea being the front runners in the race with a €30million bid, according to Spanish daily Sport. The 27-year-old is being touted to replace John Terry on a permanent basis.

Pique’s former club, Manchester United are said to be interested in his services as well with an offer of €25million on the table, €3million less than what their city rivals, Manchester City are offering.

Pique has made 7 appearances for the Catalan side this season but is highly likely to leave in the next transfer window. However, since his contract with Barcelona doesn’t expire until 2019 and his buyout clause is valued at 200 million euros, it will perhaps take a lot more for the clubs to secure his signature then they are offering at the moment.
