Chelsea news: Are these leaked kits the Blues's 2016-17 home and away outfits?

New Chelsea Kit
Is this the West London club's new home kit for the 2016-17 season?

As per a number of news images, Chelsea's new home and away kits for the 2016-17 season have surfaced online. The London-based football club has renewed its contract with Adidas in 2013 and the German sportswear company is set to introduce it’s new Blues kit for the next edition of the Barclays Premier League.

While the official announcement of the news is months away, the Chelsea aficionados have made suppositions about the introduction of the football club's new kits that have recently come into the limelight on various social media websites.

The most recent images that have caught the attention of the Chelsea fans have manifested a new stripe along with a crew neck collar and a white border on the sleeves.

A number of lions which can be seen in the Premier League defending champions’ logo are featured on the front of the home jersey along with the actual crest of Chelsea and the name of its sponsor, Yokohama Tyres.

The Japanese tyre manufacturing company has appeared on the West London club's jersey for the very first time in the 2015-16 season and still has four years remaining, as per its contract with Chelsea.

Having said that, Chelsea's away kit highlights a primarily grey and black jersey with a couple of fluorescent yellow stripes on its sides which is somewhat similar to its 2009-10 counterpart.

The 2015-16 season has been quite forgettable as far as both the Chelsea players and supporters are concerned. The English defending champions currently have been reduced to the number ten spot on the Premier League table, a massive 25 points behind the league leaders Leicester City having played a match less.

The first part of Chelsea's 2015-16 season was a disaster. The Stamford Bridge-based club was lingering at the number 15 spot on the league table at the end of September and October which led to the expulsion of the Special One, Jose Mourinho, from the club on 17 December 2015.

Soon after, Guus Hiddink was appointed as the new caretaker manager for the rest of the season and the 69-year-old Dutch coach has successfully managed to lift the reputed London club to the top half of the Premier League table with 8 more matches to go.
