Rumour: Chelsea set to make audacious move for Manchester City’s Yaya Toure

Chelsea are set to make a remarkable move for Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure in the summer.

The Ivory Coast international was Manchester City’s best player in their title-winning season. However, his future has turned sour in the last few days after becoming disgruntled with life at the Etihad.

Toure was furious after club officials failed to wish him a happy birthday and he admitted via his Twitter page he was unhappy with the incident. His agent, Dimitry Seluk, did not help diffuse the situation and instead added more fire to the ongoing problem.

Seluk admitted had he been elsewhere, for example Liverpool, Toure would be looked at as a ‘God’ and Seluk also admitted the Ivorian’s future was in no way safe at Manchester City.

That has alerted Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, according to the Daily Star, who is keen to test City’s resolve during the summer transfer window. Toure was handed a new £200,00-a-week deal last summer by Manchester City, but with Roman Abramovich’s money Mourinho’s men are able to offer just as much, if not more.

City have no intentions of selling the 31-year-old former Barcelona star, but after the calamities of this week a move may not be far off for Yaya Toure.
