Chelsea are poised to make Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang their second signing this summer, according to the Daily Star.

The French born forward only joined the Westfalenstadion outfit from Saint-Étienne last summer but could be on the move once again having produced a number of impressive displays in Germany’s top tier.

Pacey and skilful on the ball Aubameyang is capable as a second striker or winger and would represent an excellent addition to any Premier League squad.

Meanwhile, Blues boss Jose Mourinho is in the market for at least two strikers following the departure of Samuel Eto’o and lingering doubts over the ability of Fernando Torres and Demba Ba, with a lack of firepower believed to have cost Chelsea in their pursuit of silverware last season.

Although Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp is believed to be keen to retain the forward’s services the Gabon international’s chances of regular football look set to be restricted next season after the Bundesliga runners-up completed the signing of Ciro Immobile from Torino earlier in the summer.

The west Londoners are set to make a number of signings this summer as Mourinho plans to rebuild his squad, with their recruitment drive already under way following the arrival of Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona to Chelsea.
