According to the London Evening Standard, Eden Hazard is on track to recover from his hamstring injury in time for the Champions League semi-final second leg against Atletico Madrid. While it appears that the attacker will miss the Premier League fixture with Liverpool.

Chelsea’s winger has been sidelined for three games after he sustained the injury in the quarter final against Paris Saint-Germain.

The Belgian was reportedly still in discomfort earlier in the week so is unlikely to feature in the Liverpool match.

He is confident, however, that he’ll be able to recover in time to play a part in the semi-final home leg next Tuesday.

Chelsea were laboured in attack during the first leg at the Vicente Calderon and will need create more if they are to overcome the La Liga leaders at Stamford Bridge.

Eden Hazard’s reintroduction into the first-team would be a huge boost in this regard. The PFA player of the Year nominee has been one of the stand-out playmakers in the Premier League, with seven assists and 80 key passes so far this season 10 more than next best David Silva.

Should Atletico score an early away goal then Chelsea will need to replicate the attacking ruthlessness they displayed against PSG, given that they’ll need two goals to progress to the final.
