Cesc Fabregas has cut a frustrating figure due to lack of first-team chances at Chelsea

Chelsea’s neglected star midfielder has been subject to interest from several clubs, however, Cesc Fabregas has only responded to one of the moves albeit negatively. Fabregas has turned down offers from the Chinese Super League as he seems to be not interested in moving away from the competitive European leagues just yet. Also, sources close to the 29-year-old have revealed that he wishes to fulfil his contract at Chelsea while fighting for a place in Antonio Conte’s side.

The Spaniard has fallen down the pecking order in Chelsea ranks and has made only four appearances in the Premier League so far, out of which he has started just one of the games. Antonio Conte has had his mind boggling over transfers to bolster his squad further which also involves clearing the deadwood.

It appears Fabregas starts in this list, so much so that apparently Chelsea are even willing to subsidise his £160,000-a-week wages. The out of favour midfielder has thus invited attention from several clubs including the ones from Chinese Super League.

While the Chinese clubs sensed an opportunity to bring a marquee player in what could have been a great deal, other prospect clubs have also been monitoring Fabregas’ situation. AC Milan have shown interest and reports suggest that the player might feel the same way about the move. However, another lucrative deal could emerge amongst possible options with West Ham United set to propose a loan deal for Fabregas.

Cesc Fabregas has lost his place in the side to in-form midfielders N’Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic. N’Golo Kante has started every Premier League game for Chelsea since his arrival from champions Leicester City. However, manager Antonio Conte maintained that Fabregas still remains a highly appreciated player for the club despite his lack of involvement on the field.

Other than Cesc Fabregas, veteran Branislav Ivanovic and midfielder John Obi Mikel are also expected to be shown the red flag by manager Antonio Conte.
