Organisers of 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar has been criticized by for their new stadium plans in Al-Wakrah as the top designers has pointed out the resemblance of the stadium to female genitalia.

According to the organisers, the new stadium which is 10 miles away from Doha will be built in such a way that it resembles the sails of a dhow fishing boat. The construction will be completed in 2018, and the stadium will have a capacity of 40,000.

But the $120 billion project has been hit by vast criticism after the AECOM Technology Corporation showcased a short animation on how the stadium will turn out to be. The animation lead to a wide protest in social media and has forced the designers to rethink just hours after their announcement.

While a section of the internet community support the move and say that it would be appropriate as its holds up the value of women in current society, the other section totally attacked the design with one of the worst comment being “45,000 people crammed inside a woman’s reproductive system”.
