Cristiano Ronaldo makes fun of Rio Ferdinand's 'bear crawl' video on Instagram

Ronaldo and Ferdinand played together in Manchester United

We all know that Cristiano Ronaldo and Rio Ferdinand got along pretty well when they both played and won titles for Manchester United. That camaraderie still seems to be alive, as Ronaldo poked fun at Ferdinand on Instagram over a strange workout video that the latter posted on his profile.

Ferdinand has kept himself in top physical condition ever since he retired from football, but his latest workout video drew confused reactions from all quarters and none more hilariously from Ronaldo himself.

Check out the video that Ferdinand posted on Instagram below -

While Ferdinand does have dumbbells in his hands (pretty standard stuff), what he’s doing with them is the part that’s got everyone laughing. He seems to ‘bear crawl’ his way across the grass, in a movement that honestly looks like a lazily done military drill.

It didn’t take long for Ronaldo to get in on the joke, as he proceeded to comment, “wtf is that??????

However, not one to back down, Ferdinand then replied to Ronaldo with the comment, “you need this in your life....you need the back and core strong at your age now!! I wish i done this stuff when i played!

Now considering how seriously Ronaldo takes his fitness routine and his body, it seems futile for Ferdinand to even suggest what Ronaldo should be doing it. However, this whole Instagram exchange seems to have been enjoyed by both Ferdinand and Ronaldo.

Ronaldo back in form with Portugal

Ronaldo marked his return to international football in the world cup qualifiers by firing four sensational goals against Andorra last Friday.

Speaking to the media after the match, he seemed optimistic about Portugal’s campaign when he said, “We knew that the first goal would be really important against a team which puts 11 players behind the ball. I know I am important, as are all the other players.”

“I have always given everything for the national team, I feel useful and I’m happy to be back after that injury in the European championship. There are eight games to go and we want to win all eight to go to the world cup.”

Ferdinand on the other hand, is now fully involved in his role as a pundit for BT Sport in the UK. He has previously lavished praise on his former teammate Ronaldo, saying, “He’s an unstoppable force. He has a desire to keep producing the numbers that he does year in, year out. Fifty plus goals every year for the last six years is bananas.”

The former England defender added another of his workout videos today and showed his former teammate how it’s done!
