Cristiano Ronaldo suffered a serious injury against France in the Euro 2016 final and now scans have revealed that the Portuguese superstar is set to miss the first three matches of Real Madrid this season.

According to Marca, the Real Madrid forward is currently undergoing hyperbaric oxygen therapy at a clinic in his current vacation spot Ibiza. It comes as little surprise to see the 3 time Ballon d “Or winner trying innovative methods to get back to full fitness.

However, despite Ronaldo trying his best to get fit, it seems like he will miss the first three games for Los Blancos. This will mean that he will miss the European Super Cup match against Sevilla and the first two La Liga fixtures against Real Sociedad and Celta Vigo.

The 31-year-old is also set to miss Portugal’s opening World Cup qualifier against Switzerland. Ronaldo got injured when he was competing for the ball with France's Dimitri Payet. Despite attempts to carry on playing, he finally had to give up and depart the field in tears.

However, to Ronaldo’s credit, he came out to inspire his team and was an influential figure on the sidelines as Portugal won their maiden Euro 2016 title. Ronaldo was pictured with a huge brace on his knee at Ibiza and fans of Real Madrid and the Portuguese superstar will be hoping that he makes a quick recovery

Cristiano Ronaldo deserves to win the Ballon d’Or – Paul Pogba

Cristiano Ronaldo is the favourite to win this year’s Ballon d’Or and now France’s Paul Pogba believes that the Real Madrid superstar will claim his fourth Ballon d’Or title this year. The Real Madrid star scored the winning penalty in the Champions League final against Atletico Madrid before guiding his country to the Euro 2016 title.

Lionel Messi might have beaten Ronaldo to the Ballon d’Or last year, but, Pogba feels that Ronaldo deserves it this time around:

"You have [Lionel] Messi, you have Ronaldo. Honestly, I like them both. [Antoine] Griezmann has had an amazing year," he told ESPN Deportes.

"For me, it's Cristiano Ronaldo [who should win], because he won the Champions League and Euro 2016."
