January transfer window may be couple of months away right now but teams around Europe have started to gear up for a busy winter transfer window. Unlike the previous years, we may see some of the big name players make a move to bring their career back on track.

West Brom close to signing the Juventus man

West Brom are edging closer to the transfer of Uruguayan international defender Martin Caceres, according to reports from Football Italia. The 29-year-old is currently a free agent and is also linked with Chelsea, Liverpool and Sunderland. However, Tony Pulis has made a concrete offer for him and hopes to sign him before the end of the international break.

Caceres could only make 23 appearances for Juventus in last 2 seasons due to constant injury concerns.

The Telegraph covered a story earlier today claiming that Sir Alex Ferguson advised Manchester United to raid Tottenham Hotspur to build their squad under Jose Mourinho. United parted ways with Louis van Gaal over the summer and Sir Alex was keen to see the likes of Dele Alli and Harry Kane join the Red Devils, however, Mourinho decided to sign Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic as his key summer signings.

Arsenal’s midfield maestro Santi Cazorla has confirmed that he will sign a new contract with the club and is waiting for Arsenal to put forward their offer. Cazorla has been linked with a move to Atletico Madrid next summer but the Spaniard wants to stay in London and play for Arsenal.

Gunners are keen to tie down Hector Bellerin, Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Cazorla to long term deals and are hopeful of agreeing to new contracts before the end of current season.

Liverpool’s young striker Divock Origi has rubbished all rumours linking him with a move to Juventus in January. Origi has failed to start a single Premier League game so far and was asked about the prospects of quitting Liverpool in January. To which, the Belgian replied: ‘I’ve not heard it. It’s a rumour, as there are many. No, I concentrate fully on Liverpool. ‘I’ve started both matches of the League Cup, and I scored in both games, Liverpool have won almost every game.”


Southampton want the next ‘Raheem Sterling’

Southampton manager Claude Puel is closing on the signing of Malaga’s exciting winger Juanpi to bolster his squad in the January transfer window. Juanpi’s playing style is likened to Raheem Sterling and is interested in signing for a Premier League club.

The link has been confirmed by Spanish journalist Guillem Balague, who has revealed that Juanpi has an 18m release clause which has prompted Southampton to sign the Venezuela international star in January.


Real Madrid’s failed attempt to sign Barcelona man revealed

Real Madrid hierarchy tried their best to sign Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic this summer but the Croatian star turned down every possible move from Los Blancos, including a personal phone call from Florentino Perez.

Spanish journal Mundo Deportivo have revealed that Rakitic was Madrid’s number one midfield target followed by Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante. In the end, Madrid failed to sign either of those and are now in danger of not signing any player for next two transfer windows.
