Darren Fletcher makes his return

Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher has quashed rumours of dressing room unrest under manager David Moyes.

United centre back Rio Ferdinand had openly criticized David Moyes’s criteria of naming the playing 11 close to kickoff by stating that it can turn him into a ” madman”.

This gave rise to reports that Moyes had lost the support of the senior players after a bad run of results.

However, Darren Fletcher said: “I’ve not seen that (unrest) at all, to be perfectly honest,” “I’ve seen a group of players who are trying to take on board new ideas and trying to support the new manager.”

He went on to back Moyes and said that it will take some time to get adjusted to the ideas of the new manager.

“Yes it’s a little bit different, it always is when a new manager comes in – they are always different and bring their own style. You can see the manager’s ideas, and it’s up to us players to start applying them on the pitch.”

“When you’ve been used to something so long and something comes in to change it, it does take time – it’s not going to happen overnight. This is a time for character more than anything to do with tactics or style. At times like this it is down to character.”
