David Silva out for three weeks

David Silva lies injured following a clash with West Bromwich Albion’s French midfielder Morgan Amalfitano

David Silva will be sidelined for a duration of three weeks after he picked up an ankle injury in their home win against West Browmich Albion.

The Manchester City playmaker was carried off the pitch on a stretcher after he clashed with West Browmich midfielder Morgan Amalfitano and twisted his ankle.

Initially, concerns of missing the rest of the season and the World Cup arose in the City dugout but after a medical examination, the doctors have given positive news that he may return after a span of two or three weeks.

This means that the Spaniard will definitely miss the next fixture against Crystal Palace and the crucial encounter against Everton six days later.

On Monday, City emerged as winners against West Browmich Albion in their Premier League fixture as they defeated The Baggies with a convincing 3-1 scoreline.

David Silva will be scanned later for the injury which he suffered in the derby at Old Trafford two months ago.
