Will David Trezeguet and Alessandro Del Piero reunite in the ISL?

French World Cup winner David Trezeguet spoke about the possibility of his ex-teammate and Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero playing in the Indian Super League.

Reports suggested that the 39-year-old Italian forward had undergone a medical over the weekend and was all set to sign a contract with the Delhi Dynamos.

Del Piero recently completed a two-year stint in the Australian League with Sydney FC and is currently a free agent. If he signs for the ISL, it will be a marquee signing for the new league that is scheduled to kick off on October 12.

Trezeguet: Excellent opportunity to share memories with Del Piero

David Trezeguet, who signed up for the ISL with FC Pune City said he was looking forward to playing with his ex-teammate again.

“In relation to Alessandro Del Piero - it would be an excellent opportunity to share our old memories of playing together,” Trezeguet admitted.

“If his arrival is certain, then it will be a great feeling to play together again.”

Trezeguet excited to play in India

The French forward spoke about his role at FC Pune City and how excited he was with the prospect of helping football flourish in India.

“FC Pune City is a club with good people working for it and I am glad to be chosen to start the history of a club which has the potential to be very big,”

“The expectations are high but I have a desire to learn. This is a new step for me and it will be a very enriching experience.” he added.
