David de Gea's future at Manchester United uncertain: Agent Jorge Mendes

David de Gea could leave Manchester United for Real Madrid this summer?

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea could be on his way out of Manchester United at the end of the season.

According to one of the top agents in world football Jorge Mendes, who also happens to be the player's representative, his future remains uncertain at the Premier League club.

"David is amazing, he's brilliant. He's a Man United player and has a contract there. You have to respect that but things change every five minutes," said Mendes, when asked about De Gea's chances of moving to Real Madrid.

United are reportedly negotiating a new contract for De Gea who has been one of their best players this season. According to the Express, Ed Woodward, the current executive vice-chairman at Old Trafford, is prepared to offer a massive £200,000-a-week five-year contract worth about £52m. The Spaniard's contract at Manchester United is due to expire at the end of next season.

The Manchester club also signed Victor Valdes earlier this month. However, manager Louis van Gaal considers him as a backup for the 24-year-old.

De Gea joined United in 2011 from Atletico Madrid for £17.8 million – a British record fee for a goalkeeper. He has since went on to become one of the top shot-stoppers in the Premier League.
