Delhi Inter-Academy tournament: DDA FA win U-17 & Punjab Heroes FA Under-14 category!

Twenty-two teams each in the Under-14 and Under-17 categories are vying for top honours in the 3rd DSA Inter-Academy Football Tournament for the Delhi United Cup which has reached the final stage being played at the CWG Village Sports Complex, Akshardham.Defending champions Delhi Development Authority (DDA) Football Academy retained their Under-17 title after beating Diksha Sports Management (DSM) Eves Football Academy by a solitary goal. Earlier a two minute silence was observed in memories of Manoka Ghosh, mother of former Delhi state captain, referee and DSA managing committee member Dilip Ghosh, who passed away yesterday at herresidence in R.K. Puram after a brief illness. After a barren initial half proceedings match winning goal was scored by DDA's outside left Manas Kumar Singh in the 32nd minute.Earlier, Punjab Heroes Football Academy scored an identical 1-0 win over Real-Jaguar Football Academy to clinch their maiden Under-14 title. Inside-left Utresh scored the match winning goal in 17th minute.DDA Commissioner (Sports) Diwakar Sarkar and COSCO India representative Col (retd.) V. K. Sood distributed the prizes.
