Chelsea are playing the highest level of football at the moment as they continue their good form in the Champions League as well, registering a thumping 0-5 win over Schalke in an away Champions League encounter. Speaking up on his team’s quality following the match, Didier Drogba revealed how tough and effective Chelsea’s defenders.

“I was a defender once and, you know, I try to face them in training,” he was quoted by the Guardian. “After that I have to go to the massage room and get some treatment because they’re that good.”

Drogba reached a personal milestone of his own on Wednesday as he scored his 50th goal in Europe while bagging the team’s fourth one. The Ivory Coast striker however insists that Chelsea has to win trophies if they are to prove that they are as good as the previous sides.

“I think Chelsea have the chance to say we had great teams in terms of spirit [in the past], a machine in terms of hard work and efficiency,” he continued. “This one is efficient too, but with the attacking players, the passing rate and quality of passing is higher.”

“We have more creative players, which makes it maybe better to look at. Either way, the most important thing is to win titles, so this team will only be good if it wins titles and big trophies. Then we will be able to compare it with previous sides,” he concluded.
