"I am scared to lose finals," insists Didier Drogba ahead of the Capital One Cup final

Didier Drogba focused on winning the league cup for Chelsea

Didier Drogba has told his team-mates that a victory at the Capital One Cup final should be their only goal. Chelsea who are to face Tottenham Hotspurs this Sunday at the Wembley will be hoping to recreate their trophy run from 2005, which started with a League Cup victory.

Chelsea lost 2-1 the last time they faced the Spurs in the League Cup final back in 2008. Drogba was the man who scored the goal for Chelsea that day, but it only added to his total of nine goals in finals, among which he has scored 5 winning goals.

“This one is important because after two years I come back to the club and once again we are in a final, so I would love to win it,” said the Ivorian to Sky Sports News. “Once you get there it is important to make sure you win and then after the game you have the good feeling of a champion.”

“When you lose, you always remember it forever, like the one against Manchester United in Moscow or against Tottenham in 2008. I have experienced the feeling of losing finals before, so I am scared to lose finals and maybe that is why I give everything.”

Drogba though declared that revenge was not in his mind or the teams mind from what happened seven years ago.

“There is no feeling of revenge after seven years – they deserved to win that day and I hope that Sunday is going to be different,” said the Chelsea striker.
