Liverpool have completed the signing of highly-rated Belgian youngster Divock Origi from Lille on a five-year deal for a fee of £10million, the club announced on their official website.

The 19-year old, however, will return to the French club on loan for another season.

The Belgian becomes Brendan Rodgers’ sixth signing of the summer as the Belgian follows in the footsteps of Rickie Lambert, Emre Can, Adam Lallana, Lazar Markovic and Dejan Lovren.

The teenage striker shot to prominence owing to his impressive performances in the recently concluded FIFA World Cup.

The youngster, who had only started only 12 games for Lille last season was able to oust Romelu Lukaku owing to his impressive performances after coming on as a sub in the first two group games in Brazil.

He scored his first international goal at the World Cup as well in their victory over Russia, thus becoming the youngest goal scorer in Belgian World Cup history.

The deal, which was reported about a week back, finally went through after the Belgian flew off to Boston to complete his medical. Liverpool had recently balked on a nearly-done deal, when Loic Remy failed his medical at the club.

Origi has been touted as the perfect striker for the Premier League, boasting a great physique as well as pace to run behind the backline. However, he still remains a raw talent that needs to be harnessed and cultivated by Brendan Rodgers.

The young Belgian seemed glad to have finally made his move to the Premier League. Origi told the club's website: "I am very, very happy and delighted a club as big as Liverpool showed interest in me. I'm very excited.

"I know it's a club with a great history, great fans and a lot of great players. For me, Liverpool is one of the greatest clubs in the world and I'm very excited to be part of this great history."
