Dwight Yorke hails “vital” Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey

Aaron Ramsey has been a revelation for Arsenal this season

Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke has hailed Aaron Ramsey’s return to the Arsenal squad and praised the midfielder after his performance against Hull City on Sunday.

The Welshman has struggled with injuries since Boxing Day and only recently returned in the FA Cup semi-final win over Wigan at Wembley. He was instrumental in helping the Gunners to three points at Hull on Sunday, scoring one and playing a part in others.

Yorke, a legend at Manchester United, believes Arsenal have missed a player of Ramsey’s quality in recent months. The lack of running from deep and joining attacks is something Arsenal have now resolved with the return of the Welshman, according to Yorke.

Yorke believes it is a crucial time for Ramsey to return and has praised the Welshman.

Yorke said to Sky Sports News: “Ramsey is vital for Arsenal. He was a big miss when he got injured but he has got back into the team and this is his second start since he got back to full fitness,” said Yorke.

“This is what Arsenal have been lacking – his desire to keep on running and get into the box to give them another option. He is creating space for his teammates – and most importantly he is getting the goals as well.”
