Chelsea attacker Eden Hazard is confident that he will be fit to play in the London derby against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday after picking up an injury while on international duty with Belgium in midweek, reports Sky Sports.

The 23-year-old came on just after the hour mark during the 2-2 draw with Ivory Coast on Wednesday but was involved in a clash with Newcastle United’s Cheick Tiote just moments after his introduction.

Rated as a doubt after the game, Hazard has now handed manager a huge injury boost by declaring he will be able to take part for the Blues at the weekend as they look to tighten their grip on top spot in the Premier League table.

“It hurt, but I think I can play this weekend.

“After 20 seconds I got a kick. A nice welcome, but I’m not worried about the injury,” said Hazard.

The winger’s recent form has been key to the west Londoners ascent to the summit of the table and victory over Tim Sherwood’s side will see them move seven points clear of their rivals, as they are the only top four side in action.

Meanwhile, Hazard also admitted that he is eager to play as many games as possible during the run-in.

“I’m not that tired. In the first half against Fulham I felt it a bit, but in the second I found my flow back. I don’t need that much rest, I’m at my best when I can play a lot of games,” he insisted.
