In a sit down for the club’s official website, Chelsea star Eden Hazard was asked to pick a five-a-side team with players the Belgian winger has played along with. Four out of the five players Hazard had selected have played for Chelsea while two of them are currently contracted to two different teams.

He picks his Chelsea and Belgium teammate Thibaut Courtois as the goalkeeper, stating, “He is young but he is already one of the best.”

Former Arsenal winger Gervinho, who had once shared the locker room with the Chelsea winger when they were playing at Lille, has also been picked by Hazard. “I played with him at Lille and we won two trophies together. He was very good at creating,” states Hazard as the reason for his nomination.

Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata was the third name in Hazard’s team. Mata had left Chelsea for the Red Devils after struggling to cement his position in the starting line-up, bu the chemistry between the Spaniard and Hazard was the one to watch out for.

“From the first training session we were together our understanding was very good and we had a good relationship,” states Hazard.

The team features Besiktas striker Demba Ba, another former Chelsea player who had failed to make it large at Stamford Bridge.

"Demba Ba. My best friend! And not because I played with him, because I didn’t really get the chance – he was on the bench a lot and then when he started to play I was injured," adds Hazard.

The final piece in the puzzle is Chelsea legend Didier Drogba who is the fifth player in the team of one goalkeeper, one midfielder and three forwards.

“I have a lot of respect for Didier. I saw a lot of his games before I came to Chelsea and he was one of the top players. It’s a pleasure to be his team-mate now,” states Hazard.

When asked his team was susceptible to conceding goals because of the absence of defence, to which Hazard replied saying, “I know I don’t have any defenders in my team, but when do you think the opponent will get the ball?”

“They are not getting the ball, but even if they do then I have Thibaut there to stop them,” he added.
