Eden Hazard suits Bayern Munich more than Kevin De Bruyne, says Franck Ribery

Eden Hazard will be a better replacement for me than De Bruyne, said Ribery

Kevin De Bruyne has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich as a replacement for the ageing Frank Ribery and Arjen Robben, but Ribery himself thinks that Chelsea’s Eden Hazard is a more logical option.

Both Robben and Ribery are 31 now and Bayern Munich are looking towards Kevin De Bruyne as a potential replacement, as he has been very impressive this season at Wolfsburg.

He has been on the wishlist of a number of top clubs this season including Premier League giants Manchester City, but Bayern Munich look like the most favourable destination for the Belgian.

Ribery has struggled with injuries throughout this season and has started only nine Bundesliga games. He is also unfit for the trip to Borussia Dortmund this Saturday. Robben has also suffered fitness problems since the New Year and is currently out with an abdominal muscle tear.

“Hazard better suited to Bayern Munich, but will be expensive”

However, Ribery has doubted the need of an urgent replacement for any of the Bayern wingers.

"Believe me, in this world, you won't find players like me or Arjen that easily, with all due respect. Of course, the club needs to contemplate about what happens once we have left, but Arjen and I are not done yet."

Ribery thinks that Kevin De Bruyne is a different player to the current Bayern wing duo, "He's a super player, but when I see him I note that he's different to Arjen and me.”

"He's not a player who takes the ball and starts dribbling, and likes to have the opponent in front of him. De Bruyne's super when he has the space on the counter attack, but at Bayern you usually only have three, four metres -- no huge spaces. But he is a good player, and he is still young. He can still learn."

Franck Ribery also suggested that Kevin De Bruyne's style of play is different to the way Bayern play and believes that Chelsea’s star Eden Hazard would be a better replacement. He said, "He attacks all of the time. He loves to run at his opponent. But he plays at Chelsea. This could be very expensive for Bayern."

Ribery said he did not know if Bayern boss Pep Guardiola would sign a new contract with the club whose contract is set to expire next year in 2016 stating, "A lot of it is also down to the coach's wishes. And, today, we don't even know who will be the coach by then."
