Cavani is tempted by the Premier League

Edinson Cavani has expressed his desire to play in the English Premier League and holds the competition in high regard. The striker currently plays for Paris Saint-Germain in France and has been linked with a move to several English clubs in recent times.

In an interview with FOX Sports when asked about the prospect of moving to the Premier League he said, “Honestly, it would be wrong if I said no. It's is one of the most beautiful and important leagues in the world.”

Cavani has been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United recently and the striker has been flattered by the interest in him. “When as a player you have dreamed of playing at the highest level, it's normal that it gets your attention to be linked as a target as a possible addition to important clubs in the world.”

But the 29-year-old is grounded about the possibilities and is only thinking about his current team. “But it doesn't go further than the reality and today's reality is that I'm a PSG player. I've always said that wherever I have played, I've always respected that jersey and I've always defended it as though I had been a supporter of the team all my life.”

He said that he will always be understanding of the team he is currently associated with claiming that it is his nature. “I will respect it and I will continue to do so because it's how I approach life. The reality is that I'm here.”

The striker did not rule out the move completely keeping his future possibilities open to debate. “We will see in the future, but it's true that the Premier League is very appealing.”

United interested in Cavani

Manchester United are currently short on options in the striking department and have been linked with several top names including Edinson Cavani. The club have been mentioned several times in the media as to wanting to sign the forward.

Cavani is currently third in the scoring charts of Ligue 1 with 14 goals and has been overshadowed by the presence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The striker has played several times for PSG this season and has been in better form as compared to his previous two years in Paris.

Louis Van Gaal won’t be able keep relying on Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial for goals with Wayne Rooney also not getting any younger. So this might be the right time for the club to invest in the forward after he has declared his interest to play in England
