The night of Saturday, 21 November 2015 will be one when the footballing world comes to a standstill as Real Madrid take on Barcelona. Real Madrid: The news of the return of several players from injury would have been music to the ears of Rafa Benitez, as he now has the luxury of selecting from a wider group of squad memebers. James Rodriguez proved his fitness by playing 180 minutes for his national side during the international break and should start while Dani Carvajal is expected to replace Danilo at right-back. Defender Sergio Ramos is also expected to recover from a shoulder injury in time to partner Raphael Varane at centre-back.
Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas, who missed the last two league games with a muscle problem, should also return in goal in place of Kiko Casilla for Saturday’s clash. Left-back Marcelo, who suffered a hamstring injury during his side’s Champions League victory against PSG, is not 100% match-fit but should be ready in time to replace Nacho at left-back.
Striker Karim Benzema is expected to play a role after returning from a knee injury he sustained while on international duty with France in October. However, it has been a long layoff, and Benitez may not risk starting him in the fear of aggravating his injury. Gareth Bale will most probably lead the line, with James Rodriguez behind him and Ronaldo and Isco supporting him from the left and right wings respectively.
Barcelona: Fans could not have been treated to news better than their superstar Lionel Messi’s return from a knee injury suffered during a La Liga game against newly promoted Las Palmas in September.
