Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has heaped praise on manager Jose Mourinho and new signings Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba. The Spanish goalkeeper was interviewed by The Guardian ahead of the much awaited Manchester derby.

It has been understood that De Gea would have left Old Trafford this season had former manager Louis van Gaal not been sacked in the summer but soon changed his mind after Mourinho’s arrival.

De Gea spoke about the world's most expensive player, Paul Pogba who arrived from Juventus in a deal worth £89 million. He said, "He was here a few years ago, he knows the Premier League, what it is all about, he knows the club, and that has helped; he has adapted and settled extremely quickly. He’s really top class, a fantastic player, top midfielder."

The Spanish goalkeeper then spoke about former PSG striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the skills of the Swedish striker, "When you see Zlatan up close, he’s even more imposing than on the television. Zlatan is very, very big, very strong and his control of the ball is incredible. It can seem like he’s not there, he’s not there, and then he goes and scores the decisive goal. "

Pogba and Ibrahimovic have brought the fear factor back with United as Mourinho has expressed his desire to win the title in his first season with the Red Devils. Jose Mourinho was an important factor in persuading big names like Pogba to ply their trade for United without Champions League football. A feel-good factor has returned to Old Trafford after spending more than £150 million again this summer.

De Gea added, "The new signings and a new manager have given us a leap in quality. The manager is a winner and he transmits that very well." Earlier the Spaniard had praised Mourinho saying, “ He is one of the best managers in the world and we feel it. We are really comfortable with him.”
