Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has revealed his admiration for his former teammate Frank Lampard and also adjudged him as his all time favourite goalscorer in an interview to the Manchester City website. Lampard sits fourth on the list of all-time top scorers list in England with 177 strikes in his illustrious career with the Chelsea legend currently plying his trade in MLS for New York City.

Sergio Aguero was also praising the other names at the top of the list, including the likes of Wayne Rooney, Michael and Owen and Alan Shearer. He said, “There are some great names in the Premier League top 20, but without a doubt, for his goal tally and lead over everybody else, Alan Shearer deserves to be on the podium. That said, there are a number of other players I admire. I’d say it’s a matter of taste or playing style because the Premier League has hosted many of the greats and still does, Michael Owen, Wayne Rooney and Thierry Henry to name just a few. "

Frank Lampard who was on loan with the Citizens has found a fan in Manchester City's talisman, Sergio Aguero as the Argentine talked extensively about the 38-year-old. Aguero said, “As my personal favourite, I’d like to choose Frank Lampard, who in spite of not being necessarily a striker, stands among the top 10 goal-scorers. That deserves praise. "

Lampard had a brief stint with Manchester City in the 2014-15 season scoring six goals in the process. He and Sergio Aguero had formed a good partnership during his time at Etihad as the Argentine continued heaping praises on his former teammate, “I had the chance to play alongside him and it was a valuable experience. He’s every inch a professional and a man you can respect."

Sergio Aguero is just two goals behind Ryan Giggs who sits on the number 20th spot on the list. The Argentine has piled up 107 goals since joining the Citizens from Atletico Madrid in 2011. Aguero has endured a miserable international break as he missed a penalty in Argentina's 1-0 defeat to Paraguay and will be glad to get back to club football as City face Everton on Saturday.
