Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the saviour for Manchester United in the Europa League

Manchester United’s Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic turned down a €100 million offer from China to join the Red Devils, revealed his super-agent Mino Raiola. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was a free transfer from Paris St. Germain, but is paid a rather sizeable wage at Old Trafford, though that would pale in comparison to the Chinese offer.

Raiola was his typically loquacious self when speaking to Italian news outlet Il Giornale, and praised Zlatan for his conviction to join United thus:

“Ibrahimovic is the best. He turned down €100m net from the Chinese! He doesn’t want more money, he wants to win.”

While Raiola did not name which Chinese Super League club made the staggering offer – it is not unlikely, given the massive amounts that were paid to stars like Graziano Pelle to play. However, Zlatan is fairly compensated at Old Trafford, and is said to be earning £200,000 per week, which works out to about £10.4 million annually.

Raiola also went on to note his luck in working with some stunning players and also tipped AC Milan’s Gigi Donnarumma to make it big.

“I’ve been lucky, I’ve always had champions. Zlatan, Nedved, Maxwell and now Matuidi and Donnarumma. He [Donnarumma] will become even better than Buffon, because whoever comes in the future is always better than the past.”

Ibrahimovic is repaying Manchester United weekly

While Zlatan Ibrahimovic is earning a big pay-packet from Manchester United, the Swede is still repaying the faith shown in him. Despite Manchester United enduring a blip, with three consecutive losses recently, the Swede has still been scoring goals, most recently bailing out a disappointing Red Devil side with the winner in a 1-0 win in the UEFA Europa League against FC Zorya Luhansk.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic also notched up a few records with his header last night, becoming only the third player after Adrian Mutu and John Carew to score for 7 different clubs in Europe. The Swede is also Manchester United’s top scorer this season, having scored 6 goals so far – as Wayne Rooney continues to misfire for the Premier League giants.
