Chelsea won all of their three games in the month of November

Chelsea have become the first English club to win all three Premier League awards for November with Diego Costa, Pedro and manager Antonio Conte picking up an award each. These awards come deservedly for the Blues after their fabulous eight-game winning streak continued right into November, starting from the 4-2 win against Leicester in September.

They won all of their three games against Everton, Middlesborough, and their bitter London rivals Tottenham this month, scoring 8 goals in the process and conceding only 1.

Antonio Conte won the Manager of the Month award, his second in a row, for guiding Chelsea to the top of the table where they sit three points clear of Arsenal. The Italian has instilled discipline and a strong work ethic into his side, completely turning Chelsea’s fortunes around after last season’s disappointing campaign under Mourinho.

Diego Costa has pipped Eden Hazard to the Player of the Month award this time, after claiming two goals and two assists. He scored a goal and made an assist in the 5-0 drubbing of Everton, and completed the month’s work with another goal against Middlesborough. Costa’s total goal tally has risen to an impressive 11 goals this season, currently at par with Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez.

“Things are going well at the moment. The team is doing well and this shows that things are working out for me,” Costa said. “The team performance has a bearing on this individual award. If we were bottom, I doubt I’d have won it. So, it’s down to my team-mates, thanks to the club and hopefully we can continue this winning run.”

The third award was claimed by ex-Barcelona man Pedro, who was bought by Mourinho for £21 million in the summer of 2015. His stunning curler into the top right corner to equalize against Tottenham right before half-time won the Premier League Goal of the Month award.

“This is the best goal I have scored for Chelsea,” Pedro said. “The game was very difficult, it was a derby, and the goal came at the right moment for us. It was important to score before half-time. Thank you to the fans for voting for me. I am very happy with this award.”

Both Pedro and Costa have been influential players in Chelsea’s revival. Antonio Conte will look to keep both their level of performances up as the Blues mount a serious bid for the Premier League title this season.
